Murray Grey Bulls at Home and in the Tank
Bull development philosophy…
Our bulls are developed from the very top females in our herd because not every cow earns the right to raise a herd bull. Each dam must first demonstrate a consistent production record, unwavering fertility, and proven structural soundness, particularly in hoof and udder quality. She must also be a low maintenance female capable of thriving under the pressures of our environment and grass based management system.
Selection pressure is intentional and uncompromising. No more than 10% of our calf crop is left intact as potential herd bulls. We firmly believe the female line behind a bull is the most critical component of his value, and that restraint in numbers is essential to maintaining quality. Every animal plays a role in the bigger picture, and each bull brings his own strengths to the table. As a result, the majority of our bulls are strongly maternal in design.
Our program does not typically focus on producing complete bulls selected for show ring phenotype or extreme carcass traits. Instead, we prioritize maternally sound females with longevity, fertility, and proper hormonal development. The bulls we raise are designed to sire range ready cattle that can function, perform, and remain profitable in real world commercial environments.

Backed by maternal strength, both his dam and paternal grand-dam going on 11 years old in the herd. K67 offers what most grass producers aim for. He is robust, low to the ground, and has an excellent disposition. He possesses tremendous spring of rib, while packing a perfect 10 in tenderness. Koolaid came to us in utero, bred by Eagles Run Ranch. Pictured here as a long 2 year old, Koolaid has exceptional fertility, length, and muscling ability. A sound traveler with excellent feet, and a very masculine bull. His sire is Australian import Yamba Werewolf, and his dam is world class Murray Grey female, Eagles Run Rosalie 585D, who is a donor cow for us and daughter of the well known Eagles Run Trillium. Koolaid covered over 30 cows in a 45 day season as a yearling. His birthweights have averaged 79 pounds, and his calf crop’s average adj 205 DW across bulls & heifers is 584 pounds. K77’s first calf crop was consistent and heavy. His entire 2025 steer crop sold direct to a local feeder program, they were that good. With his sample group, we would not hesitate to use him on heifers in the future. He is not likely to improve tenderness, but If you’re seeking a long and growthy bull to add weight to your calf crop without jeopardizing calving ease, look at K77.

Pictured here as a long yearling. Out of a large sample group, Leaded is in our opinion the best Eagles Run Mikhail son we raised. With tremendous spring of rib, perfect legs, smooth front end, intense masculinity, and easy keeping ability we feel he is improved on his sire. Leaded displays the pelvic width we want to see in replacement heifers, we are looking forward to running his daughters in the herd. He was a high seller in our 2024 production sale, and sold with semen interest. His low birthweight and trouble free build indicate he will be suitable for heifers, while still possessing eye appeal, substance, length, and depth. His dam is one of the most beautiful Murray Greys we’ve laid eyes on, and produces top of the drop calves with exceptional udder and hoof.

Southend Narssist N185- $65/straw
BW: 88
Adj 205: Unknown
MA-Free, Myostatin- Free
$65/straw
N185 is in our opinion one of the most exciting new imports from Australia to the US we’ve seen. We were so thrilled to see this bull land on US soil we invested quite heavily in his genetic inventory and have a little to share. While just getting started in the US, N185 has a large sample base of impressive offspring in AUS. While only having two calves sired by N185 in our herd to date, both are exceptional and calved easily and unassisted.

We recommend him over cows.

Nangara Quarterback Q1- $55/straw
BW: Unknown

MA-Free, Myostatin- Free
$55/straw
Q1 is a fairly new import to the US from Australia and has just started to appear in US herds. He is a frame 6 bull, and marketed for safe use with heifers. We have had a couple born successfully to heifers in the 80 pound birthweight and therefore believe he is better suited for cows. Impressive bull none the less and one we bought a bit of genetic inventory on with plans to share. We have limited supply available to the public.
